General Technical Characteristics

Toolox 33 is a pre-hardened, quenched, and tempered tool and engineering steel known for its high impact toughness and very low residual stresses, ensuring excellent dimensional stability after machining. Its low carbon and alloy content make it well-suited for welding and thermal cutting. Delivered in a hardened and tempered state, Toolox 33 is ready for immediate use without the need for additional heat treatment.

  • Molybdenum (Mo): 0.30
  • Vanadium (V): 0.10–0.11
  • Nickel (Ni): ≤1.00

This composition provides an optimal balance between strength, toughness, and machinability.

  • Hardness (HBW): 275–325
  • Yield Strength (Rp0.2): ≥700 MPa
  • Tensile Strength (Rm): ≥800 MPa
