Tungsten alloys EF 17, EF 175, EF 18, EF 185
Tungsten alloys EF 17, EF 175, EF 18, EF 185 are produced only by powder metallurgy technology, which is explained by the considerable difference in melting points , the components included in their composition. In the process of sintering the prepared powder, more fusible elements are able to fill the entire space between the tungsten grains, forming a monolithic mass.
Special properties
Tungsten steel usually contains nickel and iron or nickel and copper. At the same time, the proportion of tungsten itself can reach from 90 to 97%.
The main indicator of presented alloys is their density, level which is shown on the label. That is, EF 17 has an indicator of 17 grams per cubic centimeter, and EF 185 – 18.5 grams per cubic centimeter. Alloys also slightly differ in the level of hardness.
Alloys are supplied in the traditional form including sheet, tungsten rod and so on.
acids.
Applications
Considering how much tungsten costs, production from it fully justifies all costs. Alloys are used in the production of extra strong cutting tools, tank armor, nuclear waste containers, and so on.
