API 5L steel pipes, Gr. X52, X60, X65
The API 5L seamless and steel pipe specification allows for the full range of applications in the oil and gas industry, with a wider range of performance than standard products.
Special Features
Seamless and welded pipes can be bought in two levels:
– PSL 1, represented by products with standard characteristics required from pipes and pipelines;
– PSL 2, which implies additional requirements, taking into account the peculiarities of the operating conditions and the medium transported through the pipes. Thus, steel pipes can be ordered with characteristics corresponding to a specific technological process, working environment, stress, pressure in the pipeline, external influences, and so on.
The properties of rolled products are largely determined by the chemical composition of the steel used, which is dominated by carbon and manganese. At the same time, the maximum content of these and other elements should be consistent.
API 5L welded and seamless pipes are slightly more expensive than standard products. But it is fully compensated by the unique performance properties of special products for the oil and gas industry.
