Uns c14200 alloy / m3 copper

Rolled copper under the metal mark M3 or uns c14200 is made from technical copper by fire refining or by using secondary remelting of raw materials. The number 3 indicates the purity of the copper-based alloy.

The chemical composition of the uns c14200 alloy is quite homogeneous – the main element is pure copper, in percentage not less than 99.5%. The remaining half a percent is iron, nickel, sulfur, lead, tin and other elements. The alloy belongs to oxygen-free – in the composition of less than 0.08% oxygen.

Features

M3 alloys are in demand due to their good ductility, excellent corrosion resistance, strength and durability. The cost of copper of this type is one of the lowest on the market, while the scope is as wide as possible.

Copper sheet, rod, wire and other products based on m3 alloys are quite easy to process and can be used to create other non-ferrous metallurgy alloys. Please note that there are two main types or varieties of alloy – M3M soft copper and M3T hard copper, which differ somewhat in their physical parameters and characteristics.

The scope, as noted above, is quite extensive. The alloy is in demand in the aircraft industry, in the manufacture of instruments and equipment, in shipbuilding and mechanical engineering. It is also used in architecture when creating design and decor elements.
