Steel grade 3407 is an electrical sulfide alloy with an unregulated chemical composition, which, like the smelting procedure, is determined by the manufacturer. On a steel sheet, GOST determines the permissible limits for the content of silicon, which can be from 2.8 to 3.8%. The basis of the alloy, with a share of up to 96%, is iron. Special properties The material belongs to the group of cold-rolled thin-sheet anisotropic rolled products with an oriented rib structure that provides significant magnetic permeability in the direction of rolling and minimal specific losses in a weak field. For a high relative magnetic permeability in a weak and medium field, minimal eddy current losses, an increase in electrical resistivity, up to 0.5-106Ohm per meter, a decrease in density up to 7650 kilograms per cubic meter also affects the significant content of silicon in the alloy. The affordable sheet price for metal is explained by the availability and low cost of all alloy components. Applications Taking into account the special properties, it is possible to buy 3407 steel sheet for the manufacture of components for the magnetic circuits of electric machines, various devices and transformers.
