Hastelloy heat resistant stainless steel was developed by Haynes International specifically for the needs of the chemical and aerospace industries. It was necessary to obtain a steel alloy that would be distinguished by such parameters as:

· the highest strength;

· resistance to corrosion of all types ;

resistance to deformation;

preservation of properties in the widest range of temperatures and pressures.

Hastelloy alloys, the price of which depends on the variety (there are about three dozen different types of this brand), include components such as nickel, chromium, manganese, iron, vanadium, cobalt, niobium, molybdenum, aluminum, etc. .

Features and Applications

The main purpose of the alloys of this grade is to provide a working process at high temperatures and pressures, as well as to conditions of acidic and alkaline atmospheres. Ordinary stainless alloys in such conditions, as a rule, do not have high durability.

Hastelloy is the most effective in this regard: it is used in the manufacture of parts for nuclear reactors, in the manufacture of pipelines for the transportation of chemically active working environments. In addition, they can be used as a spray on existing elements of structures and mechanisms to improve their performance (gas thermal method).
