Inconel 600 / 2.4816: Properties, Applications, and Features

✅ General Technical Characteristics

Inconel 600 (2.4816) is a nickel-based heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant alloy that exhibits high resistance to oxidation and aggressive chemical environments. This alloy demonstrates excellent mechanical strength at high temperatures and remains resistant to deformation under extreme loads. Due to its high nickel content, Inconel 600 has exceptional resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking and alkaline corrosion.

Main Characteristics:

  • High corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing environments.
  • Excellent thermal resistance at temperatures up to 1100°C.
  • Resistance to high-temperature oxidation.
  • Good mechanical strength and plasticity.
  • Excellent weldability and machinability.
  • Structural stability under prolonged heating.

🔬 Chemical Composition of Inconel 600 / 2.4816 (%):

  • Nickel (Ni): ≥ 72.0
  • Chromium (Cr): 14.0 – 17.0
  • Iron (Fe): 6.0 – 10.0
  • Manganese (Mn): ≤ 1.0
  • Silicon (Si): ≤ 0.5
  • Carbon (C): ≤ 0.15
  • Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.015
  • Copper (Cu): ≤ 0.5

💡 Thanks to its high nickel and chromium content, the alloy demonstrates excellent resistance to aggressive environments and high temperatures.
