Stainless steel Nimonic 263 / 2.4650 / Haynes 263

Nimonic 263 is a high alloy austenitic steel with up to 50% nickel. Alloying is carried out by introducing chromium, cobalt, molybdenum, titanium, manganese, aluminum and silicon into the composition. The steel is distinguished by high corrosion resistance, the ability to work for a long time at high temperatures.

Special properties of the alloy

Nimonic 263 heat-resistant stainless steel is smelted in an arc furnace and is characterized by the accuracy of the chemical composition. Special properties include:

– The ability to maintain their properties at temperatures up to 900 degrees.

– The ability to contact oxidizing agents for a long time environments.

– Ease of welding.

Rolled products can be turned, milled, ground and drilled. Hardening can be performed by cold or hot working.

Applications

Nimonic 263 stainless steel is successfully used in the manufacture of welded equipment for chemical production, pipes and pipeline fittings, tools for heat treatment, disks and blades for gas turbines, heat-resistant elements of furnaces for various purposes.
