General Characteristics

Steel 1.5529 (27MnB5) is a boron-alloyed structural steel with high strength, wear resistance, and excellent hardenability. It is used in the production of components subjected to high mechanical loads and wear.

• Carbon (C): 0.24 – 0.30
• Manganese (Mn): 1.10 – 1.40
• Silicon (Si): 0.15 – 0.35
• Boron (B): 0.0008 – 0.0050
• Chromium (Cr): 0.15 – 0.35
• Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.025
• Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.010

Mechanical Properties

• Hardness after heat treatment: 55-62 HRC
• Tensile strength: up to 1500 MPa
• Yield strength: up to 1200 MPa
