Wolfram Carbide / WC

Tungsten carbide (WC) is a chemical compound of the refractory metal tungsten with carbon. It has the appearance of a gray powder, from which, using high pressure, materials are obtained that have a number of useful properties:

· high hardness – 9 on the Mohs scale, that is, 4 times harder than titanium and 5 times harder than steel;
fragility – products are more likely to break than deform;
· chemical resistance to acids at room temperature;
· corrosion and wear resistance.
Our products are used in the following areas:
· Industry – Tungsten carbide is used for tools and tool parts that require special resistance to corrosion and mechanical wear. A thin layer of material is applied to their surface by welding or thermal spraying to protect them from damage.
· Medicine – surgical scissors and clamps made of tungsten carbide, the price of which is higher than that of stainless ones, much more efficient and durable.
· Jewelery – Tungsten alloy rings and bracelets with eternal polish are popular.
