Description

Aluminum alloy AMG5 / EN AW 5056A

The amg5 alloy belongs to the popular group of aluminum-magnesium compounds, which is characterized by such properties, parameters and characteristics as:

medium durability;

· good plasticity;

good thermal conductivity;

excellent electrical conductivity;

ease of weldability;

Reliability of welded joints;

· not very high corrosion resistance.

AMg5 brand aluminum alloys (Al-Mg system) have greater strength, wear resistance and hardness than AMg2 or AMg3. At the same time, the latter are more plastic, which allows them to find additional applications.

The Amg5 alloy contains much more magnesium, which improved the strength material characteristics. This made it possible to use it to create various structures and structures with an average load. High ductility is an obstacle in the machining of parts on machine tools: AMG 5 alloys have no “problems” with this. High hardness facilitates any operations on machines when processing workpieces.

Series 5 AMG alloy is more susceptible to corrosion (especially for welds). For this reason, experts recommend heat treatment of the surface of the parts to be welded before the welding procedure.
