Steel grade 3406 refers to electrical sulfur alloys with non-standardized chemical composition manufacturer-defined. It is a cold-rolled anisotropic sheet metal with an oriented rib structure. Steel sheet contains up to 96% iron and 2.8 to 3.8% silicon, which affects the magnetic properties, electrical resistance and density of the material. Special Features Cold-rolled 3406 anisotropic alloy with ribbed structure has high magnetic permeability in the direction of rolling and low specific losses in the weak field. High relative magnetic permeability in a weak and medium field, reduction of eddy current losses, as well as an increase in electrical resistivity, up to 0.5-109Ohm per meter, a decrease in density up to 7650 kilograms per cubic meter, provides a significant content of silicon. The low price per sheet for sheet metal is explained by the availability of the elements that make up the alloy. Applications Unique electrical properties allow sheet metal to be bought for the manufacture of elements of magnetic circuits of electric machines, various devices and transformers.
